Brunch at the Dawson, Drinks at Citizen Bar, and Wrigley Field
As we move into fall and our wedding load goes down we have more time to catch up on our social lives. My sister Cassie and her husband Tom were up for the weekend. We started our Saturday with our first visit to The Dawson restaurant. We had a beautiful blue-sky day with temperatures set on a thermostat. Bloody Mary’s and a morning scotch got the party started but the Bacon Flight really set the pace for the day. Yes, a flight of bacon. We’ve all had wine flights, beer flights, but bacon? Hickory smoked, apple-wood, hungarian, and so it went with oyster omelettes, duck eggs over biscuits and gravy and other fun fares. A buzz seems to come easy when the sun is beaming warmth and the drinks are cold. We moved the party to Citizen Bar for about an hour before we used Uber to make our way to Wrigleyville. A fine gentleman picked us up – with complimentary waters I might add. How nice for the early day-drinkers. We arrived in Wrigleyville about an hour before the game and took to the batting cages at Sluggers Bar. You’ve gotta love a bar where you can still feel like a kid. We won tickets too; redeemable for chinese finger traps (which we broke in minutes), bouncy balls and other chotchkies. After that we went to the biggest bar in Wrigleyville – Wrigley field. We enjoyed an excessive amount of helmet-nachos, pizza, hot dogs and of course, beer.
great pics…as usual.
