Engagement Session in Chicago | Mike and Lauren
Union Station and the Studio of Pabst Photo
Jamie and I had such a blast photographing Mike and Lauren this past weekend. They are wonderful together and we just loved the way their photos turned out. A mix of traditional and contemporary styling gives this image set a great look, at least we think so.Lauren is familiar with the art-world having worked at a gallery in New York, and Mike works in the more traditional (but equally fascinating) world of finance, so we wanted to give them some personalized and stylized photography that would suit them as a couple.

Plus, a little extra artistic touch of our own. We shot at Union Station downtown because it was just too cold to be outside in the heart of Chicago in the heart of February. We might have an additional e-session with them when the weather breaks. But for now, we kept to our studio located at 625 W. Jackson BL, and the comforts of the old, but beautiful Chicago Union Station. It has such wonderful lighting qualities because of the huge frosted glass atrium and the grand staircases with floors and walls covered in warm colors. We started the shoot around 3:00pm and headed immediately over to Union Station to get the most out of the available natural light–it still gets dark at about 4:30pm, so we didn’t have a whole lot of time — which was okay because when we ran out of light, we headed just a couple blocks down the street to our studio and finished the set.
Congratulations to Mike Hewitt and Lauren Staub, looking forward to taking more pictures at your wedding this summer!
Great photos of a beautiful couple!
